Welcome to the world of CAM

CAM is rich in artistic glass works made in Murano entirely by hand by internationally renowned Murano artists. On request, we produce completely customised works for each project (design, villa, hotel).

Who is CAM

CAM is a historic furnace and showroom of high-end Murano glass art located inside a fine building dating back to the early 1900s, where the greatest artists on the island worked together, representing a point of reference and a guarantee for the choice of glass items produced by the main Venetian Masters. A vast collection of objects, vases, lighting, glasses, costume jewellery, mirrors and glass sculptures, carefully selected for a demanding clientele and attentive to the BBF “Bello e Ben fatto” typical of products made in Italy. Most of the collections in our Gallery are made with the ancient technique of blowing, the magical transformation of Murano glass that through blowing and the use of a long barrel gives life to unique pieces, creating special environments in every continent.
Inside the Gallery, a large and reserved area is dedicated to the Museum of one of the greatest masters of artistic glass on the island, the famous Pino Signoretto (1944 – 2017), some of whose most famous works CAM is honoured to look after as silent relics, thus representing him."

Biography

Pino Signoretto was born in 1944 in a small town near Venice; in 1954 he began working in a chandelier furnace. In 1959 he learnt from the great masters Alfredo Barbini, Livio Seguso, Ermanno Nason and Angelo Seguso. In 1960 he became a master glassmaker.

In 1978 he opened his own studio in Murano. He began collaborations with painters and architects, including Dali, Vedova, Licata, Kruft, Dal Pezzo, Vitali, Pomodoro and Willson. In the 1990s, he was asked to teach at universities and design schools in the United States, Canada and Japan. Since 2000 he has been teaching at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice.

His great works are magnificent and prestigious, such as twelve large fountains for a Japanese hotel, the horse for the 1999 film festival and a glass house in the Swiss forests. And also a Pantheon supported by eight columns with a fountain in the centre, and then the clowns, hinting at human vulnerability, and the animals, beings cradled by the arms of live fire.

He died in 2017 leaving to the world of artistic glass a vast repertoire of his works, which CAM now preserves in its private museum, with respect and great admiration for one of the greatest masters of contemporary glass, of which he was awarded the title "personalità benemerita della Nazione".
